Omeprazole (Prilosec) used for the short-term treatment of active benign gastric ulcers, active duodenal ulcers, erosive esophagitis, symptomatic gastric esophageal reflux disease (GERD), pathological hypersecretion states, prevention of stress-related gastris, and for triple therapy in combination with amoxicillin and clarithyromycin for H. pylori eradication in duodenal ulcer disease. Ocular side-effects include visual hallucinations and vertigo, which occur in less than 1% of patients.
